| I grew up in Southmead in the 70s and 80s and always knew Badock Woods simply as "the woods." I have happy memories of autumn walks searching for blackberries and cobnuts, going up a steep bank to what we knew as "the horse's field" and following the river along to the wildlife park. I also remember the hot summer of 1976 when the Trym completely dried up and we could walk along the river bed (that was the same year we had freak swarms of ladybirds over Doncaster Rd school!) I live in North Somerset now, but feel I must make a trip back in time to "the woods" very soon with my own children. It really does hold some magical memories for me. I shall be keeping this site in my favourites from now on, and just want to add finally - well done and thank you to everyone involved with looking after it. You're doing a great job!

| Thank you, Alan, for leading me to this website. I used to live in Bristol as a small child but moved away when I was about 8 and I haven't been back since. I now live in NZ and although I didn't know Baldock Wood, this has been a very nostalgic 'trip' home. I used to live in Eldred Close, off Druid Stoke Avenue. Lorna, New Zealand
